Hello,
My name is Kathleen Kums, 50 years old and serving in the Belgian Air Force.
My “dog-live” started in 1995 when I applied for a job as a Kennel master / dog trainer in the Belgian Armed Forces where I mainly trained Military Patrol dogs and its handlers.
At this Unit I met my husband, Jean Lobbinger. He learned me all the basic steps of dog training and his passion of dog sport was picked up by me.
After some bad luck with other breeds, we bought our first Dutch Shepherd in 1996 and over years we certified several in IGP, Tracking, Search and Rescue and Dutch KNPV and of course all of them competed in the Mondioring Program.
Our previous dogs were Ringo van de Vastenow (IGP III, SAR, Mondio III, MWD), Pepe van Oranjemoed (IGP III, SAR, Mondio 1, MWD) , Eture van het Itterdal (KNPV PH I, IPO III, FH II, Mondio II, MWD), Hessen Herder Antrax (KNPV PH I, Mondio II) , Kees (Mondio III) and Pipo (Mondio III).
In October 2018 I was nominated as a mondioring Judge.
Since 2018 I judged over 65 competitions in Belgium and abroad, while competing with my Dutch Shepherd female Pipo.
Unfortunately my husband Jean died in 2022, but the “Mondioring Family” keeps me going !
I value the basics of Mondioring, the meaning why every exercise was created in the beginning of Mondioring and try to show that in the programs that I make.
Although I like all dog breeds, the Dutchie will always be my favourite.
